We know saying goodbye on your child’s first day can feel tricky, and we’re here to support both you and your little one. A quick, reassuring goodbye usually helps children settle in quickly, and we’ll always let you know if your child needs a little extra time.

If English isn’t your child’s first language, leaving us a list of key words can help them feel understood and settle more easily. You’re always welcome to call during the day to see how they’re getting on.

The welcome pack will have everything you need for the first day, and if you have any questions, just get in touch—we’re happy to help!

Parents have the flexibility to adjust their child’s sessions, subject to availability. We kindly ask for at least 30 days written notice if you wish to reduce sessions. For full details, please see our Terms and Conditions.

If your child has a medical condition, please let us know on their registration form. Before your child’s first day, we’ll discuss this in detail with you, your child’s key person, and a manager, and share the information with the team members who will be involved in their care. We also ask that you provide written details about the condition, including triggers, symptoms, and any medication needed, by completing a medication form in Famly (the mobile app we use).

We kindly ask that any child who is unwell stays at home. If your child is ill and won’t be attending nursery, please let us know at least one hour before their session.
If our team feels that a child is, or appears to be, unwell during the day, we will contact you and ask that you collect your child as soon as possible so they can rest and recover.

Our nurseries follow the Department of Health guidelines on how long a child should remain at home after certain infections, helping us keep all children safe and healthy.

For your child’s safety, our policy is that any child who has taken prescribed medication must stay at home for the first 48 hours, in case of any side effects or allergic reactions. After this period, they are welcome to return to nursery.

Before we can administer any prescribed medication, we ask parents to complete a medication form. This helps us know exactly what the medicine is, how long it should be given, the dosage, the reason for the medication, and the times it should be administered.

Calpol is only given in an emergency and with prior parental consent. If Calpol is administered, we ask that a parent collects their child from nursery as soon as possible.

For children on long-term medication, such as inhalers, a permanent medication form will need to be completed and signed by a parent. This should include dosage, times of administration, and any special instructions. The form will be kept securely on your child’s Famly account.

We are committed to providing an inclusive and nurturing environment where every child can thrive. We work closely with families and specialists to understand each child’s unique needs, adapting our activities, routines, and resources to support their development. Our experienced team fosters confidence, independence, and social skills, ensuring that children with additional needs feel valued, understood, and fully included in all aspects of nursery life.

We offer two settling-in sessions to help your child feel comfortable and confident in their new environment. The first session lasts one hour, and the second lasts two hours. We work closely with families and, if needed, can arrange additional sessions to ensure your child feels happy and supported every step of the way.

If you’re running late or unable to collect your child, please give us a call as soon as possible to let us know. If it looks like you won’t make it before the nursery closes, please arrange for an authorised person to collect your child. The nursery keeps a record of who has parental responsibility and who is authorised to drop off or collect your child as listed on your child’s registration form.

We understand that sometimes unexpected situations arise. If a registered authorised person isn’t able to collect your child, please contact the Nursery Manager as soon as possible so we can make the necessary arrangements.

We understand that, from time to time, children may need to miss nursery due to illness or family circumstances. We do ask that parents let us know about any absences, either in advance or on the same day, either by phone or through the Famly app. If your child hasn’t arrived by 9am, we will get in touch to check that they are safe.

On rare occasions, if an absence raises concerns about a child’s safety or wellbeing, we may need to liaise with external agencies. You can find more details in our Child Absence and Attendance Policy and our Uncollected Children Policy, both available at the nursery.

All fees are paid in advance and should reach our account by the 15th of each month. We make payments easy by accepting Bank Transfers, Childcare Vouchers, or the Tax-Free Childcare scheme.

If your child has any dietary requirements, please make sure this is noted on their registration form. Our staff will then complete an allergy form with you, which can be updated whenever things change. Keeping us informed of any changes helps us ensure your child’s safety and wellbeing at all times.

If you have any concerns or worries, please don’t hesitate to speak to a member of our nursery team—we’re here to help. Most concerns can be resolved quickly through a friendly chat with your child’s key person. For more serious matters, we have a Complaints Procedure in place. Your Nursery Manager will be happy to help, and if needed, our Director is also available to discuss any issues that need to be taken further.
