- HANDCRAFTED IN AFRICA - This kenkeni is handcrafted in Africa and is part of the Classic line of imported drums from Africa Heartwood Project, suited for drumming in classrooms, rehearsals, and drum circles. The kenkeni (smallest) in the set of three has the highest tone of the dunun and is typically considered the time/tempo keeper of the ensemble.
- SOLID ONE-PIECE CONSTRUCTION - Excellent sound quality from solid one-piece construction using Mansonia, a legally harvested hardwood abundant in West Africa. The wood is treated with at least four coats of coconut oil to hydrate and beautify the wood.
- AFRICAN COW SKIN ON BOTH SIDES - The drum features African cow skin on both sides, with the hair left on to mellow the sound and provide protection. It is equipped with extra-strong, long-lasting synthetic rope for durability, and the crown rings are wrapped in cloth to extend the rope's life. Each bearing edge is coated with wax to protect and seal the wood, and a tapered wood dunun beater is included with each drum
